Somali Federal Government is Using Food Aid, Force and Corruption to Dismantle South West Somali State

It is almost three months when parts of Bakool region were liberated from the extremists. In other liberated regions such as part of Hiiran and Middle Shabelle food aid has been sent very quickly within two weeks after liberation. But it took almost two months to deliver food aid to Bakool region where people starved so badly until started dying by hanger.

It is a shame that the president of the SFG Mr. Hassan Sheikh visits only two days after the delivery of food aid to Bakool especially Huddur and Wajid and gives speech to people who on their body were very clear the manifestations of starvation.

As Mr. Hassan Sheikh told to the people of Huddur “after 42 days food was packed and stand by in Baidoa here we have delivered it to you. This is an indication that you are not forgotten”. Why packed food on tracks should stay for 42 days when Somali army and AMISOM are present in Baioda and people are dying in Hudur and wajid?

This is a deliberately tailored action from the Somali Federal Government to pressurize the south west Somali State to unconditionally accept the concept of three region administration. Ninety five percent of the communities of the six regions are supporting the South west Somali State. These people are however disturbed by enmity based policy exercised by the SFG with the support of the Representative of the United Nations Secretary General Mr. Nickolas Kay and the Representative of IGAD and AMISOM.

The reason why the representative of African Union – Mr. Mohammed Alnadiif has resigned from his position is that the joint venture management of Somali politics by the SFG, UN representative, IGAD and AMISOM are not genuine and fair and they are part of the incessant Somali problem instead of being part of the solution.

In Lower Shabelle region, the so called 3^rd and 5^th brigade of the national army from central regions under tribal mandate launched a large scale attack on local militias trying to monitor and control the security of their region and killed so many civilians and displaced thousands of people to again pressurize the South West State of Somalia. This brigade operates under clan directives and instructions using national arms, ammunitions and uniforms.

All these attacks which are going almost for two or more months are taking place under the eyes of AMISOM troops IGAD and UN representatives.

After negotiation failure, when the South West Somali State delegation lead by the President Mr. Madowe Nunow went back to Baidoa, the Prime Minister Mr. Abdiweli started inviting some officials and elders paying a lot of money to corrupt, convince and force/threaten them using state power and money to sign a fake agreement prepared by himself in consultation with Mr. Nickolas Kay and IGAD.

If any fighting break in Baidoa within the coming days, the president of SFG, the Prime Minister, Mr. Nikolas Kay and Mr. Mohamed Abdi Afey are responsible

Will UN Security Council, UN General Assembly, United States of America, European Union, African Union, Arab League and Human rights organizations be vigilant and keep eye on this inhumane attitude and intervene before another manmade disaster and death by famine takes place in southern Somalia or will they continue to be indifferent?.
